Anne Keller and Jen Zeuner

Anne Keller and Jen Zeuner own the Hot Tomato in Fruita, CO. Anne grew up in Seattle and moved to Fruita in 2002, a really long time ago, back when she had no gray hair whatsoever and still got carded buying beer. Jen is from New Jersey and still hasn't learned how to talk without using her hands. Both are avid cyclists and stuck around in Fruita because the riding is so good here. They opened the Hot Tomato in 2005 partly because running a restaurant seemed like it would be easy (ha!) and partly because they wanted a two-block commute to work. Although completely rewarding, the restaurant still isn't easy, but the two-block commute is amazing!

Why making time for cycling is a priority worth making.

Let’s face it; unless you are independently wealthy or still live with your parents, most of us generally have too much on our plates.

Excuses for not exercising become easy when the act of simply opening the pile of mail sitting on the couch for the last week seems like too much of a time burden.

For a good portion of our early years, that was the case for us Tomato owners. It’s a contradiction of sorts; we lived in Fruita and opened a business here because of the biking, and then the biking stopped happening when the business grew.
