Built environment, which can be defined as the ‘human-made space in which people live, work and recreate,’ is a key factor in health and plays a substantial role in influencing the behaviors of individuals and communities. A community’s development priorities shape the number and type of opportunities people have to be active, eat healthy food and socialize.
