Mothers sacrifice their bodies for love

By Samantha Williams/personal trainer

Much of this blog only pertains to the ladies out there, but men shouldn’t tune out just yet; you need to hear this too.

I’m going to open up and share, a lot. I’m trying to show the world that I am not afraid of judgement...

Be a lover, not a fighter

By Samantha Williams/personal trainer

Have you ever stopped to think how painful it is for a newbie to walk into a gym?

To them, everyone is fit and strong and amazing, just like they want to be. They are likely intimidated and overwhelmed. The courage it took to walk in the doors was huge.

Now, are we going to make them feel unwanted?

Join me and commit to a month of no excuses

By Samantha Williams

I have days where I am so sore and feel like I can't push through, but I find the strength inside to keep going.

You have to come to a place where no matter what excuse you tell yourself, it's not big enough to stop you.

This is your health, people. It's important.

Stop looking for excuses, start finding inspiration

By Samantha Williams/Personal Trainer

I am likely about to make some people angry and possibly make a few enemies, but I'm OK with that.

It has to be said ... STOP MAKING EXCUSES!

We do not live in a one-size-fits-all world

By Samantha Williams/Personal Trainer

You probably think this is going to be all about how people are made up of all different shapes and sizes, right?

While that is true, that is not what you are about to read.

I am talking about the world of fitness. It's not one size fits all. There is no cookie cutter mold for how it should be done. No one workout plan is THE BEST PLAN EVER, and no trainer is THE BEST TRAINER FOR EVERYONE.

When it comes to fitness, be a kid

By Samantha Williams/Personal Trainer

Have you ever watched kids at play?

I am pretty sure most of us have.

But I want you to take a closer look. Watch how kids move and play.

Now, do exactly what they are doing!

Make the gym your happy place

By Samantha Williams/Personal Trainer

I often wonder if I am doing more for myself physically or mentally when I work out.

We all know that when we do any sort of physical exercise, we get stronger and healthier, but I have become more and more aware lately of the mental changes working out has on me.

Don't be so quick to judge

By Samantha Williams/Personal Trainer

Recently, I had a very insightful conversation with a woman from one of my classes.

I was so happy she felt comfortable enough to open up a bit because she said she never gets to complain about this issue.

People are quick to roll their eyes and say, "I don't feel sorry for you," she said.

What's her problem?

Well, this woman has a hard time gaining weight, is actually underweight and wants to be stronger, not skinnier.

Making it about more than the number on the scale

By Samantha Williams/Personal Trainer

What if this year we did things a little differently?

What if we made it less about the number on the scale or sticking to some crazy diet? What if we made it more about our mental attitude and how we see ourselves?

It's never too late to fall in love with fitness

By Samantha Williams/Personal Trainer

Most people I meet assume I have always been athletic or into sports.

Not true. At all.
