CLIFTON, Colo. – Dozens of parents and children joined together Wednesday to clean and experiment with revegetation at Clifton Nature Park in Clifton.

Colorado Baby, a local organization that brings families together partnered with Mesa County Noxious Weed and Pest Management to revegetate the nature park.

The kids joined the adults, taking some of the native plants and spreading them to the affected areas for a better growth in the coming seasons.

Noxious Weed and Pest Manager Teresa Nees said, “This showcases to people, this is what we’re doing. This is how you can take this information into your backyard”

Nees and supporters have spent the last two years just picking up trash in the area, so being able to incorporate the revegetation during this event was an accomplishment.

The overall goal of the organizations is to create a better habitat for local wildlife and provide a more enjoyable place for community members.

Mesa County Noxious Weed and Pest Management hosts events like this several times during the year.
